Our Approach
When you come to Be Found Counseling, you’ll discover that this work is about more than “feeling better.” It’s about becoming more fully you. Our goal is to help you feel:
Connected to yourself and others.
Less lonely, more secure, and more hopeful.
Anchored in joy and belonging, carrying those changes into every part of your life.
Your healing won’t stop with you. What you experience here has a ripple effect—shaping your relationships, your family, your workplace, and your community for generations to come.
We know this work can be heavy, which is why we balance depth with playfulness. In our sessions, you’ll find honesty and accountability, but also laughter and lightness. We believe both are essential to healing.
Be Found Counseling’s services are centered around the Healing Our Core Issues (HOCI) Institute’s teachings and the model created by Jan Bergstrom, M. Ed, LMHC, SEP and Dr. Rick Butts, LPCC-S, SEP. Every Counselor at Be Found will be trained and certified as a Developmental and Relational Trauma Therapist (DARTT). Combining methods from several proven therapeutic approaches, HOCI provides a framework for healing, growth, connection, grace, and ultimately a true sense of self.
Our stories may be varied, but the fact is, it’s likely we all experienced some sort of trauma or stress, even in the “best” of circumstances. These things will impact your daily life whether you realize it or not. Specifically, developmental and relational trauma can be impacting your life, relationships, and overall well-being.
According to the HOCI model, developmental and relational trauma can be defined as adverse experiences of emotional, physical, sexual, spiritual, or intellectual neglect that a person has lived through in their life from birth through age 22.
We would love to help unpack how life events have changed the way you see and experience the world.
