Ally Doering, MMFT
Certified Play Therapist, Healing Our Core Issues Trained
Hi, I’m Ally — and I’m so glad you’re here. I believe therapy is one of the bravest steps a person or family can take, and I’d be honored to walk alongside you in that process. My passion is working with families, children, teens, and women — helping them find steadiness, connection, and hope again when life feels tangled or heavy.
I’ve known for a long time that this is the work I was meant to do. As a teenager, I wrestled with anxiety and perfectionism, and through my own counseling journey, I experienced what it feels like to be seen and supported in meaningful ways. That experience still shapes how I show up today — fully present, honest, and deeply respectful of your story.
I earned both my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trevecca Nazarene University, and I’ve received advanced training in Synergetic Play Therapy and Stacy Jagger’s Mountain Method. In session, I integrate narrative, play, emotionally focused, and experiential therapies to meet each client right where they are. My approach is relational and compassionate — we’ll laugh, pause, and get curious together as we work toward healing and growth.
Whether you’re a parent navigating family stress, a teen figuring out identity and belonging, or a woman trying to find balance in a busy world, my goal is for therapy to feel like a safe, steady place to land. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin; you just have to start.
When I’m not with clients, you’ll likely find me at the barn riding horses — a lifelong passion of mine — or exploring Nashville’s music scene, cheering on the Preds, or relaxing with friends, family, and my cat, Rudy.
